A stirred solution of 1,3-dibromo-2-fluorobenzene (15.95 g, 62.82 mmol, 1.0 equiv.) in anhydrous THF (100 mL) is cooled to -78 C. n-Butyllithium (1.6 N, 47.1 mL, 75.36 mmol, 1.2 equiv.) is added dropwise and the resulting mixture is stirred for 30 min at -78 C. D-2b (10.00 g, 62.82 mmol, 1.0 equiv.) dissolved in THF (40 mL) is slowly added. After complete conversion, saturated aqueous ammonium chloride is added. The aqueous layer is extracted with EtOAc, the organic layers are combined, dried over Na 2SO 4 and concentrated under reduced pressure.
