Although several hole-transporting materials (HTMs) have been designed to obtain perovskite solar cells (PSCs) devices with high performance, the dopant-free HTMs for efficient and stable PSCs remain rare. Herein, a rigid planar 6,12-dihydroindeno[1,2-b]fluorine (IDF) core with different numbers of bulky periphery groups to construct dopant-free HTMs of IDF-SFXPh, IDF-DiDPA, and IDF-TeDPA is modified. Thanks to the contributions of the planar IDF core and the twisted SFX periphery groups, the dopant-free IDF-SFXPh-based PSCs device achieves a device performance of 17.6%, comparable to the doped 2,2′,7,7′-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9′-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD)-based device (17.6%), with much enhanced device stability under glovebox and ambient conditions.

Two new families of fluorescent probe, acridones and quinacridones, whose fluorescence lifetime can be altered to produce a range of lifetimes from 3 ns to 25 ns are described. Both families of fluorophore have fluorescence lifetimes which are unaffected by pH in the range of 5 to 9 and show a marked resistance to photobleaching. The probes have been modified to allow them to be attached to biomols. and the labeling of a neuropeptide (substance P) is described. A diarylethene-pyrene diad and a diarylethene-pyrene-diarylethene triad were synthesized to investigate the photoinduced two-dimensional ordering change at a solution-HOPG interface. The mol. arrangements were detected by STM. The different photochromic isomers showed different orderings reflecting the differences in their mol. structures. For the diarylethene-pyrene-diarylethene triad, a new ordering appeared upon irradiation with UV light and returned to the original ordering upon subsequent irradiation with visible light. The new arrangement was assigned to the ordering of the closed-closed isomers based on the images of the isolated open- and closed-isomers. The relationship between the nature of the two-dimensional ordering and the mol. structure is discussed.

This study aims to verify the hypothesis by the photolytical debromination as well as synthesis of dibromo and tribromo congeners related to 2,2′-diMeO-BB 80, followed by the screening of these products in environmental samples. Using the authentic standard of 2,2′-diMeO-BB 80, it was for the first time possible to quantify residues of 2,2′-diMeO-BB 80 in blubber of dolphins and cetaceans from Australia. Moreover, the calibrated solution of lower BDMBs offered the opportunity to determine these debromination products of 2,2′-diMeO-BB 80 as well. The concentrations of the 2,2′-diMeO-BB 80 related BDMBs were 0.43-1.5% of 2,2′-diMeO-BB 80.
