The three-component reaction of phenacyl bromide, di-Me acetylenedicarboxylate and pyridine was catalyzed by layered double hydroxides@poly(p-phenylenediamine) (LDHs@PpPDA), in a one-pot reaction, in order to give the corresponding indolizines in excellent yields.
