The reaction mixture was stirred at 50 C. for 6 hours. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature, water was added and extracted with ethyl acetate. The obtained organic layer was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was subjected to silica gel chromatography to obtain 4.5 g of Intermediate 1-13 shown below.
