The crude compound was purified by column chromatography (eluting with EtOAc/hexane) to afford ketone B (1.30 g, 3.73 mmol, 43percent) as a yellow liquid. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): 88.62 (s, 1H), 8.08-8.04 (m, 2H), 7.74-7.70 (m, 1H), 7.05-6.95 (m, 1H), 6.88-6.78 (m, 1H). MS (ESI): m/z 347, 349 [(M++1)+2].
