After stirring 2 h, the reactionwas dilute with ether. The ether solution was washed with water, brine, dried (Na2SO4),and concentrated in vacuo. The crude product was purified by silica gel flashchromatography (0-30% EtOAc in hexane) to provide the product (1.36 g, 62%) as awhite solid. ?H NMR (500 MHz, CDC13) 7.69 (d, J= 2.5 Hz, 1H), 7.57 (dd, J= 8.8, 2.5 Hz, 1H), 7.28 – 7.25 (m, 2H), 7.02 (t, J=8.3 Hz, 2H), 6.85 (d, J 8.8 Hz, 1H), 4.21 (t, J6.5 Hz, 2H), 3.12 (t,J 6.5 Hz, 2H).
