A mixture of 4-methyl-3-trifluorobromobenzene (25 g, 104.59 mmol), N-bromosuccinimde (18.62 g, 104.59 mmol) and benzoyl peroxide (1.27 g, 5.23 mmol) in CCI4 (35 mL) was heated at 90 C for 4 hours.
