Yield lambda/-(3-phenylbutoxyphenyl)-aniline (3i): 86%; oil; EI-MS 317 (M+), 91 (100); 1H-NMR (CDCI3): delta 1.83 (m, 4H), 2.68 (m, 2H), 3.96 (m, 2H), 5.75 (br, 1 H), 6.46-7.38 (m, 14H).
