The mixture was sparged with argon gas for 5 min, and the reaction was sealed and heated to 95 C for 6 h. The reaction was cooled to room temperature, diluted with EtOAc, and washed with brine. The organic layer was dried over Na2S04. concentrated, and purified via column chromatography to provide 3?-bromo-2?-fluoro-2?-methyl-[l,r:3?,l?-terphenyl]-4- carbaldehyde.
