Compound 3 (713 mg, 0.5 mmol) was dissolved in anhydrous toluene (5 mL). 1,10-Dibromodecane (450 mg, 1.5 mmol), a catalytic amount of tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate (TBAHS) (0.05 mmol), and KOH (1.5 mmol) were added into this solution subsequently. This reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature under N2 gas overnight and then concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (elution with a gradient of hexanes/ethyl acetate from 10:1 to 4:1) to give the desired product as a white solid.
