To a solution of compound 14 (23.1 g, 115.5 mmol) in methylene chloride (500 mL) was added alpha-bromo-2?-acetonapthone (27.9 g, 110.0 mmol) and the resulting mixture was stirred at 0¡ã C. for 1 h prior to the addition of triethylamine (15.3 mL, 47.4 mmol).
