The organic layers were combined, washed with water (2x 2 L), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo to afford N-(3- bromo-5-methylphenyl)-4-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-2-amine as a light yellow solid. MS ESI calc’d for Ci2H,oBrF3N3 [M + H]+ 332, 334, found 332, 334. NMR (400 MHz, CDCI3): delta8.68 (d, J= 4.9 Hz, 1 H), 7.79 (s, 1 H), 7.33-7.23 (m, 2 H), 7.10-7.06 (m, 2 H), 2.36 (s, 3 H).
